To create my jewelry i use waxed cord, natural gemstones and sterling silver (925) with a mat or shiny finish or gold plated sterling silver.
The cords tend to lose some of their original color throughout the years. The gold and silver metallic cords are more delicate than the other cord types, so they need extra care( avoid putting them in water very often). Try to keep your jewelry in good condition by storing them in a box. Other than that the jewelry i create are designed to be worn and enjoyed on a daily basis without holding back.
Due to the fact that the gemstones i use to produce my jewelry are naturally sourced there are variations in their color and pattern. Hence, the natural gemstones products that you will receive will not look identical to the ones pictured on the website. The natural gemstones need NOT to be placed in direct sunlight (natural gemstones tend to lose their color when exposed to direct sunlight) and some of them, for instance Lapis Lazuli or Chrysoprase need to be rinsed with clear water if you put them in sea water.Avoid wearing any type of jewelry in chlorinated pools.
All gold plated jewelry is liable to lose their colour over time. The fading of the gold plating depends on various factors, such as direct contact with chemical products used for skincare, level of perspiration or even your natural skin PH*. For this reason, it is important to take special care of your gold plated jewelry:
- Avoid direct contact with perfumes, creams, sunscreens, acetone, detergents.
- Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom or any humid spot. Water does not affect the quality of the plating, as long as it doesn’t stay on the jewelry. Sea water can affect the brightness of the colour plating.
- Store your jewelry away from natural sunlight and heat. For gold plated jewelry i recommend placing them in a protective (lined) jewelry box, or in a plastic zip lock bag made of polyethylene. Please note that the boxes and pouches i provide are not made for long-term storage for the gold plated jewelry, as they are not airtight.
